Garden County’s attractions promoted at holiday shows

Bray People - - Kilmacanogue Diary -

THE Garden County was promoted as a tourist destination not to be missed at two successful Holiday Shows in Dublin and Belfast.

Thousands of people flocked to the two shows held over two different weekends as Wicklow County Tourism tried to convince people choosing to holiday at home in Ireland because of the recession that Wicklow should be their one and only destination.

Over 25 members of Wicklow County Tourism used the show to promote their business, and Wicklow as a whole.

Wicklow County Tourism Chairman Tom Fortune says the feedback received at both shows bodes well for the future.

‘ We are delighted with the positive response to our stand at the Dublin and Belfast Holiday World Shows. Events like these are a wonderful way of exposing a huge volume of potential visitors to the beauty of our county and the wide variety of activities, attractions and accommodations on offer.’

Wicklow County Tourism also held a competition which over 1,000 people entered. The next event where their stand will once again feature is the Brussels Holiday Show ‘ Salon des Vacances’, a five day event beginning on February 5.
