Our sixth year students are busy these last few weeks filling out their CAO forms. With the deadline looming, out students have been carefully considering their options and career options for next year. Ms. Fitzpatrick has been advising the students and we wish them all well,
Many thanks to all the parents volunteered their time to be involved in the paired reading programme. The programme was a great success and brought great rewards not only for the students involved but also the parents. This programme was organised by Mrs. Farrell and a huge thank you to all involved.
Last year our transition years created our wonderful community garden along with help from the local community and parents. The garden was a great success and building on this success our transition years this year are embarking upon the development of this garden and are creating a vegetable garden. The students will design and plant their own vegetables and learn all about organic gardening.
This will be situated in the centre courtyard. Parents are invited to get involved and we hope to see St. Kilian’s very own vegetables sprouting up soon! Well done to Mr. Lawless and all the students involved.
Ms. Garvey, our HSCL coordinator is facilitating a 6 week course on community awareness of the drugs parenting for prevention programme. The programme is entitled “Who talks to your child about rugs? Can you” and the course will run in St. Fergal’s senior school in the parent’s room on Fridays from 9-11.00 starting at the end of January.
