AFTER pleading guilty to drunken driving, Juan Esteves requested a postponement of one year on his drink driving ban. Judge Morrough Connellan agreed to a three-month postponement only.
Esteves, who had the services of an interpreter at Bray District Court last Thursday, was found to be over the legal limit for driving on Meath Road on January 16.
The metal worker, who has lived in Ireland for two years and is 42, was fined €250 and banned from driving for a period of two years and one day. Judge Connellan advised Esteves to speak to a solicitor as he may be able to apply to have the disqualification extinguished within that time.
He will be banned from driving from May 2009.
