THE FIRST training race of the season which was due to held on Sunday last under the stewardship of the new Goreybased club racing club, Slipstream CC had to be cancelled due to unfavourable weather conditions.

This would have been the first opportunity for members who had been training hard over the winter to test their fitness as cyclists from all the prominent Wicklow and Wexford clubs had signalled their intention to compete.

The recent registration night was an extraordi- nary success with the largest ever membership for the club recorded with members from all over South Wicklow and North Wexford.

Many thanks to all those who renewed their membership, in particular, the underage section, who are now in their second season with the club.

For the second year in a row the South East Road club has the largest under-age section in Ireland.

The under-age section is eagerly looking forward to the prestigious All-Ireland age champi- onships which will be held on the 11th and 12th July in Arklow.

The club is still open for membership. Membership forms are still available. New members are welcome at any time. Full details of club activities are available on the club’s website, South East Road Club@Jellylegs.com

The function organised for the Arklow Bay Hotel this Friday night the 13th February Friday has been postponed until the 6th March. Further details from Mick Considine.
