New faces at Bray
THERE HAS been plenty of good news for Bray Wanderers fans this week, with the very busy Eddie Gormley making five new signings and securing the futures of four current stars. Dave Mulcahy, Stephen Brennan, Darren Dunne, Paul Byrne and former skipper Chris Deans have all been added to the playing staff at the Wicklow club while Derek Pender, Chris O’Connor, Dane Massey and Daryl Robson have put pen to paper on new deals.
Mulcahy is a vastly experienced player who would be well known to all League of Ireland fans and is an impressive coup for Gormley.
Brennan has signed after being released by Pat’s at the end of last season and the defender will bolster a very small defence.
Darren Dunne is a young unknown midfielder from the AUL, and judgment on the 21year old will be reserved for a few weeks until he has been seen in action.
Striker Paul Byrne comes from Sporting Fingal hoping to find his form once again. Byrne found the net 16 times in 58 appearances for UCD before moving to Fingal, where he found the net just once in 13 matches. Deans will be very familiar to all Seagulls fans as he made 35 appearances for the club after signing for Bray in July 2006.
