HUNDREDS OF potential voters in Bray are not on the register of electors.

Of the 569 apartments in Bray, only 157 of them are occupied by someone who is registered to vote, while at the Printworks apartments on Dargle road, no-one is registered.

And at La Vallee on the Dargle Road only 14 people are registered to vote in more than 100 apartments. A number of other developments including Diamond Valley and The Headlands produce similar statistics.

‘I am alarmed about the situation,’ said Cllr. John Brady. ‘Hundreds of people in Bray will be denied their democratic right to a vote.’

A new register came in to force on Monday and the local elections will take place in June. It is not too late, however, for residents to add their details to the supplemental register.
