A €15 BOTTLE of wine cost a young Bray man two weeks detention at Wexford District Court on Monday.

Darren Byrne (18), of 65 O’Byrne Road, Bray, stole the bottle of wine at Tesco on Distillery Road, Wexford, on September 7, 2007.

The court heard that Byrne has 14 previous convictions. As a result of those offences Byrne is currently serving a 12-month sentence at St. Patrick’s Institution and is due to be released on April 25 next.

Judge William Hamill convicted Byrne of stealing the bottle of wine and sentenced him to 14 days detention at St. Pat’s.
