DOG FOUND MISSING ROUNDWOOD DOG FOUND ON LEESON STREET, DUBLIN Three-legged Labrador Derry went on an incredible journey
IT WAS nothing short of an incredible journey for threelegged Labrador ‘Derry’, who went missing from his home in Roundwood during the recent snow, only to be found in Dublin City Centre!
Thanks to a concerned Bray People reader, who spotted Derry on the DSPCA website, Derry has been returned to his delighted owners. He arrived back in Roundwood on Wednesday, which was also the day of the dog’s birthday.
While his owners Gary Cooley, his wife Sonia and their son Matthew are enormously relieved to have their beloved pet back at home, it looks like the mystery of how he ended up on Leeson Street will never be solved.
‘He’s not normally allowed on the bed but he’s sitting up on the bed now,’ said Gary, adding that he doesn’t seem to have come to any harm on his big adventure.
Derry managed to get out of the house and was last seen in the local shop in the village earlier in the month. The tenyear-old animal lost his leg when he got caught up in a fence several years ago.
‘If it wasn’t for the Bray People and that reader we would never have found him,’ remarked a delighted Gary.
Derry is safely back home in Roundwood.
