No belt on child

NOT STRAP­PING A child in to the back seat of a car led to a hefty fine for a Kil­macanogue woman, who was fined for the of­fense in her ab­sence at Bray District Court.

Garda John Thomp­son told the Court that Emma Mur­phy, Car­a­vans at Avoca Handweavers, Kil­macanogue, was stopped on Dar­gle Road, Bray, on July 8, 2008. He said that there was a child in the back seat of the car not wear­ing a safety belt.

Judge Mur­rough Con­nel­lan handed down a fine of €250.
