CON­GRAT­U­LA­TIONS to Craig O’Neill and the Wick­low U-21s who beat Long­ford on Satur­day. A large group of sup­port­ers trav­elled to the mid­lands venue and had a great day out. There was mixed emo­tions from Club Chair­man and Long­ford man Brian Mor­gan who made the jour­ney and gave all a guided tour of his na­tive county. An­drew Mol­loy and his co-pi­lots de­cided, (be­cause of the re­ces­sion) to avoid the toll bridge charge of 2.90 euro and drove to Long­ford via Laois. Four hours and eight coun­ties later the lads ar­rived in Long­ford and got the last 5 min­utes of the game. Class act th­ese boys are! A re­minder that Daryl Tighe has the Fe­bru­ary edi­tion of the Wick­low Gaa mag­a­zine which is an ex­cel­lent read and copies can be pur­chased for 3 euro. (Daryl can be con­tacted at 0861718923).

The Ju­ve­nile AGM will be held in the Glen­cor­mac Inn on Mon­day Fe­bru­ary 23. The club would ask any mem­bers or any par­ents who would be able to help out through­out the year to come along to this meet­ing. Con­grat­u­la­tions to Kieran Doyle who cel­e­brated his 40th birth­day in style up the Red Lane on Satur­day night. Bren­dan Power was the DJ for the night and spun the discs well into the small hours. When he fin­ished, it was the turn of the O’Toole sis­ters who kept the en­ter­tain­ment go­ing un­til morn­ing. Many happy re­turns Doyler! An­other young lady from Calary cel­e­brated her birth­day the week­end also. Con­grat­u­la­tions to Su­san Fox who was 60 years young.
