CONGRATULATIONS to Craig O’Neill and the Wicklow U-21s who beat Longford on Saturday. A large group of supporters travelled to the midlands venue and had a great day out. There was mixed emotions from Club Chairman and Longford man Brian Morgan who made the journey and gave all a guided tour of his native county. Andrew Molloy and his co-pilots decided, (because of the recession) to avoid the toll bridge charge of 2.90 euro and drove to Longford via Laois. Four hours and eight counties later the lads arrived in Longford and got the last 5 minutes of the game. Class act these boys are! A reminder that Daryl Tighe has the February edition of the Wicklow Gaa magazine which is an excellent read and copies can be purchased for 3 euro. (Daryl can be contacted at 0861718923).
The Juvenile AGM will be held in the Glencormac Inn on Monday February 23. The club would ask any members or any parents who would be able to help out throughout the year to come along to this meeting. Congratulations to Kieran Doyle who celebrated his 40th birthday in style up the Red Lane on Saturday night. Brendan Power was the DJ for the night and spun the discs well into the small hours. When he finished, it was the turn of the O’Toole sisters who kept the entertainment going until morning. Many happy returns Doyler! Another young lady from Calary celebrated her birthday the weekend also. Congratulations to Susan Fox who was 60 years young. Best wishes from all in the club Susan! Finally, commiserations to the Glencormac Youths who suffered defeat in
