Golf league ends

Bray People - - Kilmacanogue Diary -

THE CLIMAX of another fantastic winter golf league took place last Sunday in Charlesland G.C. This was the third year Shay Kiernan has run this golf event and each year it grows in numbers.

After the previous four events in Blainroe, Wicklow, Druids Glen and the K Club, it was all very tight at the top for the overall best golfer but a superb last round by Paul Murphy saw him win the award. Matthew Kiernan was second with Bobby Messett 3rd and Marc Quinn in 4th.

At the presentation of prizes held in Charlesland G.C., where all the players and their partners were treated to a lovely meal and entertainment, Shay Kiernan thanked everyone for turning out in such great numbers for every event and looks forward to seeing everyone back playing again next year. Finally, he presented Paddy Harvey with an award he richly deserves, The Worst Golfer of the Year Award and great credit is due to Paddy for been so bad over the five outings!

Finally, all golfers would like to thank Shay for the wonderful effort he put into the whole event and for affording everyone the opportunity to play on some fantastic courses of which the K-Club had to be a highlight. Well done ‘Famous Sheamus’.
