On Satur­day, Fe­bru­ary 7, a pre­sen­ta­tion of Queen of Peace Ad­ven­ture Youth Club medal­lions were made to Stephen Eaves on com­ple­tion of two years ser­vice on the club com­mit­tee; and to Robert Byrne and Ryan Cor­co­ran on their At­lantic Row in Jan­uary. Noel Walsh from the Bray Row­ing Club un­veiled a plaque of the past and re­cent his­tory of the Queen of Peace Boathouse.


The an­nual Fair Trade din­ner takes place at 7.30 pm Fri­day, Fe­bru­ary 27 in the Royal Ho­tel. Tick­ets, €60, avail­able at the ho­tel, Bray Can­cer Sup­port, or the com­mit­tee. Guest of hon­our will be Chris De Burgh, and en­ter­tain­ment will be by the Three Ami­gos. Pro­ceeds will go to Bray Can­cer Sup­port and In­for­ma­tion Cen­tre.


Wick­low Branch of the Ir­ish Child­birth Trust items for March in­clude a wel­come to the new com­mit­tee and farewell to the old com­mit­tee cel­e­bra­tion on March 5, Mums night out March 26, and craft club date to be ad­vised. For in­for­ma­tion about the Trust call 0872920560.


Bray Can­cer Sup­port and In­for­ma­tion Cen­tre drop in fa­cil­ity is open Mon­day to Fri­day, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for sup­port, in­for­ma­tion, coun­selling, and li­brary ser­vices. A spe­cial com­mit­tee of past and present chair­per­sons of the Wick­low So­ci­ety for the Preven­tion of Cru­elty to An­i­mals met on Thurs­day Fe­bru­ary 12 to draft a pro­posed re­vised con­sti­tu­tion for the So­ci­ety’s next An­nual Gen­eral Meet­ing. The meet­ing was chaired by Nor­man Cross.
