THE LEINSTER Motor Club Lincoln & Nolan Cup Sporting Trial was held in Avoca River Park, Arklow on Saturday last.
The standings for the day were as follows: 1. Gordon Erskine (Erskine-Suzuki) 13 marks; 2. Philip Erskine (Erskine-Suzuki) 14m; 3. Brian Conlon (Erskine-Honda) 15m; 4. Willie Fenton (VW) 16m; 5. Karen Fildes (Erskine-Lancia) 20m; 6. Ian Meredith (VW) 23m; 7. Joe McCann (JMcVW) 24m; 8. Gordon Watkins (Watkins-Yamaha) 25m; 9. Richard Pain (Kilkenny VW) 26m; 10. Percy Pennefather ( Erskine-Suzuki) 28m; 11.Dermott Quigley (Kilkenny VW) 28m; 12. Ben Doran (BD VW) 28m.

Meanwhile in other motorsport news, Lloyd Spendlove from Kilquade, Co. Wicklow came first in the 1800S cc Lotus Exige, in the Modified B final at round 5 of the Motorsport Ireland National Chapionship Rallycross.
He was closely followed by Eric Flemming from Walkinstown, driving the 2000cc Opel Corsa just 1.2 seconds behind.
