Wick­low Town B 0, Rath­new AFC 5: Rath­new’s ti­tle hopes are still on track af­ter they thumped Wick­low Town B 5-0 last Sun­day.

DIVI­SION 1 They now lie in sixth place and ten points off top spot, but they have five games in hand over the team in top spot.

Wick­low Town how­ever still just have three points to their names cour­tesy of three draws and cur­rently sit sec­ond from bot­tom.

On the score­sheet for Rath­new on Sun­day were An­thony Doyle and Mar­ius Gardgan, who both net­ted twice, as well as Colin Jame­son with a sin­gle.

Wolfe Tone Celtic 2, St. Fer­gal’s AFC 1: An­other side with gen­uine ti­tle am­bi­tions this sea­son are Wolfe Tone Celtic and they saw off Bray ri­vals St. Fer­gal’s by a sin­gle goal and now are just a point off the top, with three games in hand.

Fer­gal’s how­ever will not be mount­ing any ti­tle chal­lenges but surely have the qual­ity to stay in the divi­sion.

Keith Moloney and Stu­art Pur­cell got the goals for Celtic.

New­town United B 1, Wick­low Rovers 2: Wick­low Rovers leapt three places at the week­end thanks to this win and more im­por­tantly moved a fur­ther three points from the rel­e­ga­tion zone.

Rovers suf­fered a bad start to the sea­son but are all fir­ing on all cylin­ders nowe and will be play­ing Divi­sion 1 foot­ball again next year.

Things don’t look so rosy for New­town though as they ares still looking to get their forst points on the board hav­ing played eight games.
