Call­ing all young ac­tors looking for stage break

DRY RAIN is ap­peal­ing to young would-be ac­tors to come along to an­other open au­di­tion at Bray & District Cham­ber of Com­merce, 10 Prince of Wales Ter­race, on Satur­day at 2 p.m.

The au­di­tions are open to any­one aged 14-20 for their pro­duc­tion of ‘A Year and a Day,’ which will be per­formed the first week­end in May, a venue yet to be se­cured.

Si­mon O’Neill, who is a mem­ber of Dry Rain, will di­rect the pro­duc­tion. No parts will be al­lo­cated un­til af­ter this week­end’s au­di­tions to which some of the ac­tors from last week have been called back.

There are at least 16 and up to 20 parts up for grabs in the play which was writ­ten for young peo­ple by Christina Reid.

Re­hearsals will take place two evenings per week and on a Satur­day af­ter­noon.

Dry Rain is a non-profit Youth The­atre, which aims to pro­duce new and in­no­va­tive work from young peo­ple, while en­cour­ag­ing them to have fun, gain con­fi­dence and learn a va­ri­ety of new artis­tic skills.

They run pro­fes­sion­ally led work­shops ev­ery Satur­day in the Bray Cham­ber of Com­merce, from 2 p.m.
