JAMES O’TOOLE is still talking about his surprise 70th birthday party in the Esplanade recently.

His wife Mary and their children Martin, Anne, Linda and Jimmy as well as Marie, Suzanne and Alan decided to make this a birthday to remember for James.

Family, friends, relations, inlaws and 14 grandchildren joined the birthday boy for his big surprise, including new arrival Han- nah who took pride of place on her granddad’s knee!

James lives in Woodview Drive, Boghall Road. Entertainment on the night was provided by the one and only Buddy Boland and some delicious finger-food was served.

James was speechless when he was marched in to the large crowd waiting for him in the function room.

He was particularly pleased to see Mrs. Byrne there, an old family friend.

His best friend David Murphy gave a very enjoyable and moving speech about James and how much he means to everyone.

Willie Fox joined the fun by getting up to sing a song and James enjoyed a few dances, especially with his wife Mary and daughter Linda.

James O’Toole celebrates his 70th birthday with family and friends in the Esplanade Hotel.
