Driver admits cannabis was for own use
AN ARKLOW MAN found in possession of drugs has been fined € 100 and put off the road for one year.
Brendan Mates with an address at 101 Fernhill was charged by Garda Kieran Kennedy on April 6, 2008 at Coolgreaney Road.
The court heard that during the course of a checkpoint the defendant’s car was searched and a quantity of cannabis was found in the handbrake area which he admitted was for his own use.
Judge Murrough Connellan said that as he was using a vehicle during the course of a crime he must impose a disqualification.
