New times of busi­ness for county’s re­cy­cling cen­tres

RE­VISED HOURS FRIENDS OF THE EN­VI­RON­MENT TAKE NOTE OF CHANGES

AS OF last Mon­day the four re­cy­cling cen­tres across County Wick­low started op­er­at­ing un­der new open­ing hours.

The Bray Re­cy­cling Cen­tre and the Mur­rough Re­cy­cling Cen­tre in Wick­low Town were also both shut on Mon­day for staff train­ing.

The re­vised hours will see the Mur­rough Re­cy­cling Cen­tre open from 9.30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mon­day to Thurs­day, from 9.30 a.m. to 3.20 p.m. on a Fri­day and from 9.30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Satur­day.

The Ark­low Re­cy­cling Cen­tre in Croghan In­dus­trial Es­tate will now op­er­ate from 9.30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Tues­day to Thurs­day, 9.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. on a Fri­day and on a Satur­day from 9.30 a.m. to 2 p.m.. It will re­main closed on Mon­days.

The Avoca Re­cy­cling Cen­tre, Bal­ly­murtagh also doesn’t open on a Mon­day, or a Sun­day. Its hours are from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tues­day to Satur­day.

The Bray Re­cy­cling Cen­tre now opens Mon­day to Thurs­day from 9.30 a.m. to 4 p.m., 9.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. on a Fri­day and from 9.30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Satur­days.

The clean ma­te­ri­als ac­cepted free of charge are card­board, plas­tic bot­tles and plas­tic wrap­ping, glass packaging, drink cans, steel packaging, milk and drink car­tons (te­tra­paks), news­pa­pers and mag­a­zines, of­fice pa­pers, bat­ter­ies (in­clud­ing car bat­ter­ies), used elec­tri­cal goods, flu­o­res­cent tubes and light bulbs, cloth­ing and tex­tiles, books, stamps, old cds, old phones, phone books, greet­ing cards, di­aries, cal­en­dars, wrap­ping pa­per, old spec­ta­cle frames.

White poly­styrene packaging is ac­cepted at Ark­low, Bray and the Mur­rough.
