Held beer and abused Garda
CLUTCHING A CAN of Budweiser while hurling abuse at Gardaí proved one step too far for Darren Byrne, 69 Wolfe Tone Square North.
Gardai encountered Byrne on Vevay Road on February 10. He was on temporary release from jail. ‘He became abusive and refused to hand over the can,’ said a Garda at Bray District Court last Thursday.
Judge Murrough Connellan remarked that this was the fourth time Byrne had been arrested for drink-related matters. ‘You were let out on temporary release on the assumption that you would behave yourself,’ said Judge Connellan.
Judge Connellan adjourned the case until April 2 for the preparation of a Probation Report.
