History lecture

Bray People - - Kilmacanoguediary -

THE Kilmacanogue History Society March lecture will take place on Tuesday March 3 in the Glencormac Inn at 8 p.m. Titled ‘Beekeeping in Ireland past and present’ it will be presented by Joe Kelly and promises to be a most interesting lecture.

Joe, while residing in Blackrock Co Dublin, has his apiary in honey-rich County Wexford. He has been involved in beekeeping since his early childhood when he was introduced to the craft through helping his father with his bees.

He has been an active member in the County Dublin Beekeepers Association since 1964 and has served on the committee as both member and officer and is on the panel of lecturers of the ever popular County Dublin Beekeepers beginner’s course.

His talk will cover the development of beekeeping in Ireland and how it was influenced, particularly in the 19th century, by developments abroad. If you need further information please contact 01-2804050.
