‘Misled’ court on past record
A BRAY MAN who ‘misled’ the court had a conviction he received in the District Court affirmed when he appeared before last week’s sitting of Wicklow Circuit Court.
David Dunne, 4 Rafferty Villas, Bray had been convicted of drunken driving and state solicitor Rory Benville told Judge Gerard Griffin that the appeal had been heard in April 2008 and Dunne had told the court under oath that he had no previous convictions. However, he said that Dunne did in fact have a previous conviction and he had ‘misled’ the court. Dunne was not in court and Judge Griffin struck out the appeal and affirmed the order of the District Court.
