PETER MCKENNA NIGHT

A night of mu­sic will take place in Ka­vanaghs on Fri­day Fe­bru­ary 27. It is to com­mem­o­rate the first an­niver­sary of the pass­ing of Peter McKenna. A line up of mu­si­cians who en­ter­tained with Peter will pro­vide the mu­sic on the night. Ad­mis­sion is free but a raf­fle will be held on the night. All money gen­er­ated will go to can­cer re­search.

PLOUGH­ING MATCH

The Round­wood Plough­ing So­ci­ety are hold­ing their plough­ing match on this Satur­day Fe­bru­ary 28, start­ing at 12 noon in Pow­ers, Knock­ra­heen. For fur­ther in­for­ma­tion con­tact Bren­dan Power at 087 2420204.

FASH­ION SHOW

Pre­lim­i­nary no­ti­fi­ca­tion of the Avon­dale Com­mu­nity Col­lege fash­ion show in the col­lege or­gan­ised by the par­ent’s as­so­ci­a­tion in aid of the school on Fri­day March 27. Tick­ets will be on sale from March 2 in the school. More de­tails in the com­ing weeks. Watch this space.

WORLD DAY OF PRAYER

Pa­pua New Guinea and Calary Church are in­volved in the in­ter­na­tional and in­ter­de­nom­i­na­tional World Day of Prayer. The ser­vice has been pre­pared in Pa­pua New Guinea for use around the world.

Calary Church will host the lo­cal cel­e­bra­tion at 8 p.m. on March 6. Through a Knock­ra­heen con­nec­tion, we will also be able to see some of the colour and life­style in Pa­pua New Guinea. This used to be known as the Women’s World Day of Prayer, but in the spirit of po­lit­i­cal cor­rect­ness, all are wel­come!

TA­BLE QUIZ

Round­wood Com­mu­nity Pre-School are hold­ing a ta­ble quiz on Fri­day 27th Feb, in The Coach House at 8pm. All pro­ceeds raised will go to­wards adapt­ing the new house for the Com­mu­nity Pre-School, in Ash­wood, Round­wood. All sup­port wel­come.

EASTER BREAK

Would you like a week in France this Easter? The tour leaves on April 8 and re­turns on April 15. Fly­ing to Lyon for a week in the moun­tains in La Bour­bourle, with some day tours and great food.

LOTTO RE­SULTS

There was no win­ner in last week’s lotto. The num­bers drawn were 4, 7, 11 and 18. There were thirty-four match three win­ners. Next week’s jack­pot will be €13,700.
