THE MEN’S first team had a good 2-1 victory away to Malahide 1.

This victory will hope­fully help to se­cure their stand­ing in Class 1 next year. They still have one more match to play this com­ing Sun­day.

The men’s sec­ond team lost 2-1 to Lans­downe 2 in Class 3. The team was cap­tained by Brian Sam­mon and ap­pear to have se­cured their stand­ing in Class 3 af­ter pick­ing up points in each of their last three matches.

The third team also lost 2-1 to Don­ny­brook 4 in Class 4. Af­ter get­ting a tough draw it looks like they have se­cured a spot in Class 4 for next year.

The men’s 4th team lost 2-1 away to Sut­ton 5 and will main­tain their Class 5 stand­ing for next year. The men’s 5th team won 2-1 away to Glenageary 4. This victory has put them in con­tention to make the play­offs in Class 6.

Our men’s 6th team had a nar­row 2-1 at home to Monkstown 6. The de­cid­ing match went all the way to a tiebreak in the third set when un­for­tu­nately An­thony O’Brien and Luke Ma­son in their first year play­ing se­nior leagues nar­rowly lost out 7-5.

The ladies first team had a dif­fi­cult draw this year. They lost 3-0 away to Sut­ton 2. Liz Cooper and Carolyn Dempsey were un­lucky to lose in a tie-breaker in the third set. Un­for­tu­nately the team has been rel­e­gated from Class 2.

It was a tough week for our 2nd, 3rd and 4th teams all los­ing out 3-0 while the 5th team lost 2-1 away to Grey­stones 6.

The ladies sixth team un­for­tu­nately ran into some tough op­po­si­tion over the past few weeks and nar­rowly lost out 2-1 again this week. They just missed out on a place in the play-offs.

The next Club Night will be held on Fri­day, March 6, hotly fol­lowed by Spring Team Ten­nis com­menc­ing on Wed­nes­day, March 11.
