Round-up of the latest county camogie news
County training took place in Kilcoole last Sunday and was a great success. With the absence of Nuala Cullen and Suzie Pearson, Michael Neary and Billy Cullen successfully coached the U-14s who put in great effort for the session, which ended in a practice game between the county squad and Glenealy U-14s.
The U-16 training was equally as successful under trainer Anna Manley and all girls are praised for their efforts.
The next training session takes place next Sunday in Glenmalure for U-14 and U-16 players with a possible practice game for U-16s. All players are requested to be there for 10.45 a.m. If any players can not attend please contact Suzanne Pearson on 0863400623.
All clubs are urged to send representatives to the training sessions so as to build up the squads coming into the championship season. All competent players welcome
The National Camogie Coaching Committee will be giving a Camogie Foundation Level Coaching Course run over two dates in Donard on Friday evening, February 27, and Saturday morning, February 28. This course is targeted at all mentors/parents/teachers involved with juvenile teams in all Wicklow camogie clubs. The cost per person is €30.
This is the latest coaching course which is being rolled out in Wicklow and clubs should avail of this opportunity to receive the most up-to-date best practices in camogie coaching. It may be some considerable time before this course is available again in Wicklow.

Paudie Butler, National Hurling Co-Coordinator will be visiting Donard on Wednesday, February 25, at 7.30 p.m. to give a Camogie/Hurling Fundamentals Workshop. This workshop is open to both juvenile camogie and hurling mentors and interested parents. It is particularly targeted at coaches involved with players in the 5-12 year age group. There is no charge on the night and all are welcome to attend.
CAMOGIE COUNTY BOARD MEETING
Following on from a well attended and productive County Board meeting in January the next meeting will take place on Tuesday, February 24, at 8.30 p.m. in Ballinacor.
