HORSE RIDING and winetasting might not be two things instantly connected but an industrious entrepreneur in South Wicklow has created a match made in heaven.

Organised by The Munny Trail, the daylong event saw keen riders explore the beautiful countryside across 60 fences between Lugnaquilla and Mount Leinster.

A highlight of the day was a kestrel spotting over Dagg’s Field near Munny Farm.

Afterwards they enjoyed an informative wine-tasting session back at The Munny Trail in Shillelagh.

RTÉ Nationwide’s Michael Ryan was just one of the eager participants who thoroughly enjoyed the occasion which included tips from wine expert Roly Saul and samples of O’Brien’s Fine Wines.
