Champs Kil­te­gan stay in ti­tle race

An­thony Fur­long again opened the sec­ond their half scor­ing with a point in the 10th minute but David Cullen an­swered with a Shil­le­lagh point.

Ten score­less min­utes passed in which time Kil­te­gan kicked five bad wides on the trot be­fore Jacko Dal­ton broke through for a point. Seanie Fur­long added two more from play to re­store Kil­te­gan’s five point ad­van­tage.

Then Shil­le­lagh struck for a sec­ond goal in the 52nd minute, An­thony Cullen the scorer, and the game was wide open again.

In one last rally Keith Byrne sent over his sixth point but Jef­frey Ber­ming­ham kept Kil­te­gan’s safe goal ad­van­tage with the last point of an en­ter­tain­ing match and saw them stay in front to the end.

An­thony Fur­long was top scorer with 2-2 and had a great game. How­ever Man of the match must go to worka­holic Jacko Dal­ton. Seanie Fur­long got no goals this time but he made the open­ings for An­thony’s two, scored some great points and was the most in­flu­en­tial for­ward over the hour.

Keith Byrne was on fire in the first half but lost some of the glit­ter when moved out field in the sec­ond half; Paddy Byrne had a great game at mid­field An­thony and David Cullen trou­bled the Kil­te­gan de­fence all through.
