Champs Kiltegan stay in title race
settled into the job of defending their title.
Anthony Furlong again opened the second their half scoring with a point in the 10th minute but David Cullen answered with a Shillelagh point.
Ten scoreless minutes passed in which time Kiltegan kicked five bad wides on the trot before Jacko Dalton broke through for a point. Seanie Furlong added two more from play to restore Kiltegan’s five point advantage.
Then Shillelagh struck for a second goal in the 52nd minute, Anthony Cullen the scorer, and the game was wide open again.

In one last rally Keith Byrne sent over his sixth point but Jeffrey Bermingham kept Kiltegan’s safe goal advantage with the last point of an entertaining match and saw them stay in front to the end.
Anthony Furlong was top scorer with 2-2 and had a great game. However Man of the match must go to workaholic Jacko Dalton. Seanie Furlong got no goals this time but he made the openings for Anthony’s two, scored some great points and was the most influential forward over the hour.
Keith Byrne was on fire in the first half but lost some of the glitter when moved out field in the second half; Paddy Byrne had a great game at midfield Anthony and David Cullen troubled the Kiltegan defence all through.
