EX­PLORE YOUR OP­TION

‘Ex­plore your Op­tions’ is a free course for peo­ple who are newly un­em­ployed. The course, which will take place in the Brock­agh Cen­tre this month, is de­signed to help you plan your next steps, to con­sider your op­tions, know what skills you have, as­sess the em­ploy­ment mar­ket and de­cide what’s best for you. If you are sign­ing for un­em­ploy­ment ben­e­fit for less than 12 months and in re­ceipt of Job­seek­ers Ben­e­fit or Job­seek­ers As­sis­tance, you are el­i­gi­ble to at­tend this course. The course will take place in the Brock­agh Re­source Cen­tre on a *Mon­day and Tues­day morn­ing 10am un­til 1pm from Mon­day, Septem­ber 21 (*pro­vi­sional and may be sub­ject to change). DANCER­CISE

RETRO RHYTH­MICS

It’s a breeze to ease back into shape with Retro Rhyth­mics. En­joy in­vig­o­rat­ing ex­er­cise rou­tines to the beat of fa­mil­iar 60s mu­sic. EL­E­VA­TION DANCE SCHOOL

El­e­va­tion Dance School will hold Jazz and Mod­ern The­atre classes for chil­dren and teens fo­cus­ing on tech­nique and dis­ci­pline from the ISTD syl­labi. Skills are then com­bined to cre­ate rou­tines in­spired by Broad­way and West End shows and com­mer­cial street jazz, all of which are per­formed in the an­nual end of year pro­duc­tion. Wed­nes­day evenings from Septem­ber 16 at Brock­agh Cen­tre. Chil­dren aged 4 to 6 years from 4.15-5pm; aged 7 to 10 years from 5pm to 6pm; and aged 11-plus from 6 to 7pm. Call Kate 086 8256775.

BODHRÁN CLASSES

Bodhrán for be­gin­ners is a ba­sic five week bodhrán course for to­tal be­gin­ners. Classes com­menc­ing in Septem­ber in Brock­agh re­source Cen­tre. Learn how to play along to any Ir­ish tune in just five lessons. Stu­dents must have their own bodhrán. Lim­ited places. There was no win­ner in last week­end’s lotto draw. There were four match three win­ners. Jackie Hughes, Janet McFar­lane, Eimear Harper and Mol­loy. The num­bers drawn were 13, 23, 26 and 28. Next week’s jack­pot will be €8,300.

SET DANC­ING

Set Dance Ses­sions con­tinue in Ka­vanagh’s Lounge on Thurs­day nights from 9.30pm to 11.30pm with mu­sic this week sup­plied by Michael, Matt and Brian and dances called by An­gela Bernard. New­com­ers are al­ways wel­come and if there is enough in­ter­est, we will do classes prior to the ses­sion. Round­wood Bad­minton recom­mences on Mon­day, Septem­ber 23 in Aras An Tochar at 8.30pm. We have two nights of play - Mon­day and Wed­nes­day nights and new mem­bers/so­cial play­ers are al­ways wel­come.
