Road ban and fine

A MAN WHO drove while intoxicated has been fined and banned from driving at Arklow District Court.

David Wright who gave an address in court as Michael Street, Wexford was stopped on the Wexford Road on May 29, 2008.

The court heard that Garda Annette Courtney observed evidence of drug use in the car and that a subsequent blood sample showed traces of benzodiazepine and opiates.

Solicitor Fergus Kinsella told the court that his client has taken steps to address his problems and has not come to garda attention since that date. A fine of €250 and a ban of four years were imposed.
