Bray People - - NEWS -

IT MAY SEEM a tad early to be discussing all things Christmassy but Christy Kavanagh of Newtownmountkennedy, for one, would disagree.

The Irish Christmas Tree Growers Association recently held their AGM in the Parkview Hotel, but prior to that meeting the winner of the National Christmas Tree Competition was announced.

The competition was voted for by the local people of the village, with Kavanagh Christmas Trees of Glendarragh, Newtownmountkennedy wining the Supreme Champion category as well as taking first place in the Noble Fir section.

The competition chooses who had the best tree in the 32 counties.

Speaking after his triumph, Christy Kavanagh said, ‘Grow- ing Christmas Trees is a round the year activity,’ adding that his commitment to the perfect tree was evident in the beauty of his winning entry.
