Science invitation for primary pupils
WICKLOW SCHOOLS are being urged to take part in the Discover Primary Science programme.
The programme which will focus on Science and Maths Excellence 2010 will acknowledge the efforts of primary school children and teachers across Ireland who have shown an increased knowledge of science and maths. Last year, 19 primary schools in Wicklow won an award and it is hoped that this figure will increase in 2010.
The 19 Wicklow schools that received Awards of Science Excellence are Scoil Mhuire Realt na Mara, Moneystown National School, Saint Andrew’s National School, Delgany National School, Jonathan Swift National School, Glebe National School, St. Joseph’s Girls National School, St.Joseph’s National School, St. Mary’s & St. Gerard’s National School, St. Mary’s National School, St. Patrick’s Loreto Primary School, Scoil Aodán Naofa, Marino School, St. Peter’s Boys National School, St. Fergal’s Junior School, St. Catherine’s Special School, St. Laurence’s National School, Wicklow Educate Together National School and Powerscourt National School.
Schools registered under the DPS programme applying for an Award of Science & Maths Excellence must keep a Discover Log, recording their science related work which must be submitted by April 23.
