Interchange work to finish up soon
WORKS at Greystones Interchange will soon be completed.
Cllr. Tom Fortune raised the matter at last week’s meeting of Greystones Town Council and wondered if the traffic was going to be able to pass through the town properly when completed.
Cllr. James O’Sullivan said there had been concerns about the bus lay-by and wondered if it would be capable of accommodating Dublin Bus while Cllr. George Jones said despite the concerns the bus lay by looked very well. Cllr. Stephen Stokes wondered if there would be bicycle racks installed and wondered when these would be completed. Cllr. Chris Maloney said he hoped he would never see the day when major road works took place in the town in the run up to Christmas. Town engineer Eoin Heslin said there was no issue with accommodating Dublin Bus and said the works were due to be completed within two weeks. ‘We are doing surface dressing at the moment and flagging the bike rack.’ He said the snagging will commence shortly and said that while the works were a little behind schedule it was only by a number of weeks.
