Two ma­jor awards for Ir­ish Fer­ries

IR­ISH Fer­ries was back again in the win­ners’ en­clo­sure re­cently when the com­pany was pre­sented with two ma­jor Ir­ish Lo­gis­tics and Trans­port Awards - the Passenger Trans­port Award and the Over­all Lo­gis­tics and Trans­port Ex­cel­lence Award - both spon­sored by the Char­tered In­sti­tute of Lo­gis­tics and Trans­port.

In winning the Over­all Lo­gis­tics and Trans­port Ex­cel­lence Award, the top prize out of eight cat­e­gory prize win- ners, Ir­ish Fer­ries was praised for its busi­ness and fi­nan­cial flair, their com­mit­ment to qual­ity and for the en­tre­pre­neur­ial vi­sion dis­played by its man­age­ment in tough eco­nomic times. To win the award, the com­pany had to sur­vive stiff com­pe­ti­tion from 26 other com­pa­nies.

In winning the Passenger Trans­port Award, Ir­ish Fer­ries was praised for hav­ing in­vested more than €50 mil­lion to en­sure that its new ser­vice to France would be a suc­cess - a de­ci­sion de­scribed as ‘a brave thing to do in the cur­rent eco­nomic cli­mate.
