Lo­cals give opin­ions on bet­ter Ire­land

A TO­TAL OF 602,172 peo­ple voted for the AIB Bet­ter Ire­land Pro­gramme by text and on­line, with County Wick­low’s groups now set to share a re­ward of €40,000.

The three short­listed projects for Wick­low, Ark­low and Bray branch were ranked de­pend­ing on the num­ber of votes they re­ceived from their lo­cal com­mu­nity.

Re­ceiv­ing €5,000 each will be the Ark­low Sea Scout Group (9th Wick­low), Down Syn­drome Wick­low Branch, St. Cather­ine’s As­so­ci­a­tion Ltd. and the Holy Redeemer Youth Cen­tre.

Inbhear Mor Marchers, Wick­low Ed­u­cate To­gether ASD Unit, Cen­tre for Chil­dren with Autism and Shanganagh CDP will each re­ceive €3,000 for fin­ish­ing sec­ond in their re­spec­tive branches.

In third place and re­ceiv­ing €2,000 were the Ark­low Bi­ble Club, Rath­new Com­mu­nity Cen­tre Ltd., Grey­stones Youth Work and Fun Dayz Com­mu­nity Child­care.
