Locals give opinions on better Ireland
A TOTAL OF 602,172 people voted for the AIB Better Ireland Programme by text and online, with County Wicklow’s groups now set to share a reward of €40,000.
The three shortlisted projects for Wicklow, Arklow and Bray branch were ranked depending on the number of votes they received from their local community.
Receiving €5,000 each will be the Arklow Sea Scout Group (9th Wicklow), Down Syndrome Wicklow Branch, St. Catherine’s Association Ltd. and the Holy Redeemer Youth Centre.
Inbhear Mor Marchers, Wicklow Educate Together ASD Unit, Centre for Children with Autism and Shanganagh CDP will each receive €3,000 for finishing second in their respective branches.
In third place and receiving €2,000 were the Arklow Bible Club, Rathnew Community Centre Ltd., Greystones Youth Work and Fun Dayz Community Childcare.
