Warm welcome for folk group
KILCOOLE extended a warm welcome to Bray’s Holy Redeemer Folk Group when they performed in St. Anthony’s last Friday night.
The folk group is 12 years old now and has supported charities such as the Herbert Roud Youth Centre, Wicklow Homeless Five Loaves, and with this latest concert St. Vincent De Paul and the Kilcoole Music Festival.
‘It was a most uplifting evening of wonderful music,’ said Collette Hunt, who arranged to bring the choir to Bray along with her sister Miriam Ryan who is a member of the group. ‘There was a great reaction afterwards. We would like to thank the sponsors in particular.’ Conductor Helen Dodd took charge of the 25 singers on the night, with six musicians accompanying them on keyboard, guitar, fiddle, flute and mandolin.
The folk group about to begin their opening number.
