Warm wel­come for folk group

KIL­COOLE ex­tended a warm wel­come to Bray’s Holy Redeemer Folk Group when they per­formed in St. An­thony’s last Fri­day night.

The folk group is 12 years old now and has sup­ported char­i­ties such as the Her­bert Roud Youth Cen­tre, Wick­low Home­less Five Loaves, and with this lat­est con­cert St. Vin­cent De Paul and the Kil­coole Mu­sic Fes­ti­val.

‘It was a most up­lift­ing evening of won­der­ful mu­sic,’ said Col­lette Hunt, who ar­ranged to bring the choir to Bray along with her sis­ter Miriam Ryan who is a mem­ber of the group. ‘There was a great re­ac­tion af­ter­wards. We would like to thank the spon­sors in par­tic­u­lar.’ Con­duc­tor He­len Dodd took charge of the 25 singers on the night, with six mu­si­cians ac­com­pa­ny­ing them on key­board, gui­tar, fid­dle, flute and man­dolin.
