St. Kilian’s bank has the X factor
TRANSITION year students at St. Kilian’s in Bray are currently taking part in the Build a Bank Challenge.
The theme they’ve chosen is an X factor theme and they’ve named their bank; ‘The X Bank’.
All of ‘The X Bank’ members were chosen from the Transition Year Business class and all of the students had to go through an interview and prepare and bring with them their own Curriculum Vitae.
The successful team were chosen and conduct regular meetings. The positions available were bank manager, assistant manager, auditor, sales and marketing director and two tellers.
After a series of interviews the Bank Manager chosen was Ashley McKeon followed by Daniel McCann as Assistant Manager. Wai Kit Phang got the job as Auditor and Deana Keogh, the Sales and Marketing Director. Melissa Nelson and Ryan White also got the job as the bank’s tellers.
The X Bank staff organised a hike up Bray Head in January of this year to learn about team work and togetherness.
The students wrote up numerous surveys to see if their fellow students had any interest in opening a bank account in the school, and if so to see which days and times suited the other students in the St. Kilian’s.
The team has come up with various aims for the rest of the school year, including recruiting more customers, to introduce new ways to bank such as phone and internet banking and to provide ongoing customer service for customers and their needs.
The X Bank team have also come up with imaginative ways to promote their new bank in which past X Factor contestant’s names will be used to help such as; JLS (Just Love Saving) or Alexandra Burke (Amazing Bankers). There will also be an X Factor look-a-like competition where ‘The X Bank’ will give prizes to the best entrants.
