Last weekend’s eighteen hole stableford competition was won by Tinahely member Stephen Moran. Stephen, playing off a handicap of 18 returned a score of 41 points. Highlight of his round was an eagle three followed by two birdies at the close of the first nine.
Runner-up with a score of 40 points was Tullow member Edward Fitzgerald (18) who carded 40 points. Best gross score was returned by local man Michael Lennon who, playing off a handicap of six, carded a fine two over par score of 73 which gave him 34 gross points. In third place was Declan Doyle (8) who returned 39 points. The best score on Saturday, 39 points, was returned by last year’s Captain’s Prize winner Paddy Myers (11). The prize for the best card returned on Sunday went to Liam Kavanagh (17).

Bridge Hotel Golf Society
The results of the Bridge Hotel Golf Society competition, played at Blackwater Golf Club last week resulted in a win for Tom Craine with 39 points.
Class 1: Peter Coburn 37 points; Class 2: Thomas Halpin 36 points; Nearest The Pin: Peter Coburn 14 ft; Front 9: Harry Kavanagh 19 points; Back 9: Charlie Keppel 20 poins.
Next week’s competition is on Saturday, April 3, at Arklow Golf Club, with tee-off at 9.15 a.m.
Also, on Easter Monday 5th, a competition will be held at Oakpark Golf Club Carlow. with tee-off at 10 o’clock sharp. Guests welcome. Membership fees are now due.

This weekend is an Open Weekend in Baltinglass Golf Club, on Good Friday we have a four-ball for husband and wife, and an 18 holes Mens and Ladies Singles Stableford for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and then on Easter Monday we have the start of our fun and social golf with a “Captains Scramble” with a shotgun start at 3 p.m. sharp.
