Satur­day, March 20: 18-Hole Stable­ford: 1st. Pauline Walker (21) 1 Down; 2nd. Bar­bara Os­borne (31) 2 Down; 3rd. Deirdre Baynes (26) 3 Down.

Last week­end’s eigh­teen hole stable­ford com­pe­ti­tion was won by Ti­na­hely mem­ber Stephen Mo­ran. Stephen, play­ing off a hand­i­cap of 18 re­turned a score of 41 points. High­light of his round was an ea­gle three fol­lowed by two birdies at the close of the first nine.

Run­ner-up with a score of 40 points was Tullow mem­ber Ed­ward Fitzger­ald (18) who carded 40 points. Best gross score was re­turned by lo­cal man Michael Len­non who, play­ing off a hand­i­cap of six, carded a fine two over par score of 73 which gave him 34 gross points. In third place was De­clan Doyle (8) who re­turned 39 points. The best score on Satur­day, 39 points, was re­turned by last year’s Cap­tain’s Prize win­ner Paddy My­ers (11). The prize for the best card re­turned on Sun­day went to Liam Ka­vanagh (17).

Bridge Ho­tel Golf So­ci­ety

The re­sults of the Bridge Ho­tel Golf So­ci­ety com­pe­ti­tion, played at Black­wa­ter Golf Club last week re­sulted in a win for Tom Craine with 39 points.

Class 1: Peter Coburn 37 points; Class 2: Thomas Halpin 36 points; Near­est The Pin: Peter Coburn 14 ft; Front 9: Harry Ka­vanagh 19 points; Back 9: Char­lie Kep­pel 20 poins.

Next week’s com­pe­ti­tion is on Satur­day, April 3, at Ark­low Golf Club, with tee-off at 9.15 a.m.

Also, on Easter Mon­day 5th, a com­pe­ti­tion will be held at Oak­park Golf Club Car­low. with tee-off at 10 o’clock sharp. Guests wel­come. Mem­ber­ship fees are now due.
