Fingallians record a convincing victory
THE SECOND game played at Glenealy saw visitors Fingallians from Dublin prove too strong for the home side as they romped to a ten-point victory.
Goals from Peter Macken and Barry Molloy and single points from midfielder Eoin Martin, Peter Daly and Stephen Dowling put the hosts in control, while Gary Byrne added a long-range point from a free which saw the winners leading 2-3 to 0-1.
After the break the Dublin side added two points. At this stage Glenealy showed an improvement and after a brief rally Stephen Coady scored a goal and the same player landed two points which gave hope of a revival as they cut the lead to 2-5 to 1-3 ten minutes into the second-half.
The last quarter saw the winners up the tempo and they went on to add 1-3, the goal coming from Conor Dempsey while Glenealy’s only reply was a point from substitute John Phelan.
