PRESTIGIOUS PUBLICATION SHOWCASES WICKLOW
A PRESTIGIOUS travel publication showcasing County Wicklow and Ireland has hit the newsstands in Germany, profiling the best in holidays here to over 100,000 avid readers and potential holidaymakers.
Merian magazine is one of the top glossy travel magazines in Germany and this month's edition includes details of the Wicklow Gardens Festival and Powerscourt Gardens, as well as a wonderful double-page spread on Mount Usher Gardens in Ashford, with great holiday ideas for this part of Ireland.
Tourism Ireland facilitated the visits of the various journalists who wrote the features.
‘We are delighted with the coverage in this publication,' said Barbara Wood, Tourism Ireland's manager in central Europe. ‘It is an excellent way of showcasing Co Wicklow and the island of Ireland and the huge variety of things to see and do here to a large audience of potential holidaymakers in Germany.
‘ The stunning photography captures and complements the messages in our spring campaign, which is under way right now, highlighting our spectacular scenery and tapping into the fun of holidaying here.'
Germany is the largest outbound travel market in the world, with Germans taking more holidays than any other nationality.
‘Ireland holds strong appeal for Germans,' added Barbara, who said that the country ranks at number 5 on Germans' ‘wish list' of places to visit.
Merian magazine includes Powerscourt Gardens.
