Jules the Octopus predicts ‘Best Actress’ Portman

Bray People - - NEWS -

FOLLOWING THE sad loss of his world famous cousin Psychic Paul, Jules the Octopus from the National Sea Life centre in Bray has taken over the family tradition and used his telepathic tentacles to predict the 2011 Oscar winners.

The handlers of the psychic octopus presented Jules with laminated pictures of those nominated for best female actress attached.

Jules made a beeline for the photo of Natalie Portman clad in a leotard for her role as a ballerina in The Black Swan. So it was no surprise when Natalie picked up the gong on Sunday night.

‘As a full cousin to the legendary Paul he has already exhibited an exciting degree of psychic awareness and we’re confident that his ability is of a level similar, or perhaps even greater, than his cousin,’ said Pat Ó Súilleabháin, centre manager.

Cynics should think twice before dismissing future advice from Psychic Jules as octopi are highly intelligent creatures, they have learned to open jars, mimic other octopuses, and solve mazes in lab tests.
