No funding for roundabout

Bray People - - COUNCIL REPORT -

WORKS WILL not be carried out at the Killincarrig Roundabout as the National Transport Authority has refused to fund the project at the moment.

Cllr. Derek Mitchell said the project with is known as Delgany - Phase 5 was agreed almost five years ago and only two phases have been done. ' I am disappointed it is not being funded by the NTA . It has been outstanding for four or five years and the road is a complete mess. I am disappointed that this small project is not going ahead.'

Cllr. James O'Sullivan said the 'Killincarrig Roundabout is completely unacceptable. There are no markings and people are flying through the junction.'

Town engineer Eoin Heslin said that he had just been told the work was not going ahead until the village centre was done.

He told Cllr. O'Sullivan that the council had held back on the markings until the improvement works which had been scheduled were done but a certain percentage had now been done.

Cllr. Mitchell said he understood there was a land acquisition issue in Delgany centre which is 'very, very slow. I totally disagree with the priority.'

Mr. Heslin said ' I agree totally with you'.
