MAGIC OF THE MUSICALS
Roundwood Variety Group are putting production “Magic of the Musicals” this weekend from Thursday 3rd March to Saturday 5th March, nightly at 8pm with a matinee on Saturday at 3pm in The Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh. This promises to be a great nights entertainment with great big numbers from Mamma Mia, Les Miserables, Oklahoma, My Fair Lady with the children doing some great songs from Annie & Bugsy Malone to name just a few. Tickets for all shows are only €12 and are now on sale & can be booked by ringing 086 2451829.

The next dance in Roundwood Parish Hall/Centre will be on the 25th March music will be by Tony Davitt. On the 15th April music will be by Golden Dream and on the 20th May music by Gerry Galvin and the Wicklow man will play on the 17th June and Rio on the 15th July. Dancing is from 9.30pm - 12 midnight with tea and a raffle. There will be a tea dance on Sunday 13th March 2011 from 3pm - 6pm with music by William Belton and we will also have a tea dance on 5th June from 3pm - 6pm with music by William also.
A pilgrimage S.M.A to Knock will take place on the Sunday 28th May, 2011 leaving Laragh at 7a.m. via Roundwood at 7.30a.m. Bus €25 per person. Names to Susan at 0404 45276.
The Unity Gospel Choir will hold a concert in Roundwood Parish Hall on Friday 1st April from 8pm - 10.30pm. Admission €10 with all money raised going to The Wicklow Mountain Rescue. Tickets are in Justines shop or can be bought on the door on the night.
The cruise planned for June has been cancelled. It will take place next year instead.
Circuit training and body conditioning starting Tuesday 22nd march from 7 - 8pm at the parish hall, Roundwood, €7.50 per class or sign up for 8 classes for €55, please bring a mat/water and plenty of energy
The results of the whist in aid of the Senior Citizens is as follows:-Top Score: Biddy O'Connor; Top Lady: Kitty Kennedy; Second Lady: Mary Jo O'Malley; Top Gent: Richie Cullen; Second Gent: Tiney Shortt; First Half: Molly Byrne; Second Half: Maureen Gaffney; Longest Sitting: May Kenna & Lowest Score: Ann Gaffney. Raffle prizes were won by Ann Wolohan, Maureen Gaffney, Mary Pierce & Lucy Molloy. The next whist will be on Wednesday 9th March.
Due to the cancellation of the Annual Sale of Work in December, A Spring Fair is to take place on Sunday 17th of April. It is planned to have all the usual attractions with a Spring & Easter Theme. The Committee would welcome any new idea's to help make this event an enjoyable day.

A big thank you to all the children who have created lovely pictures for our art competition. The good news is we are holding an Art Exhibition on Sunday the 6th March after 11.30 Mass in Roundwood Parish Centre. The pictures are being judged by Claire Timmons (Art teacher in Jobstown Community College). 1st and 2nd placed paintings in all age-groups will go forward to repesent our area in the County finals The exhibition will close at 2pm. All children parents and guardians are welcome.

SET DANCING NEWS
Now that the New Year is with us and we've already broke all our resolutions, why not make a new one to try something different and join us in Kavanagh's Lounge on Thursday nights for a fun night of set Dancing with live music supplied by O'Kanes. The session starts at 9.30pm til 11.30pm and we hold lessons with Sheila from 8.30pm so there is no excuse not to give it a go!Cost of the evening is €5 (to include the lesson). Anyone who has tried this will tell you that it is a great fun night, good work out and costs an awful lot less than a gym. Don't feel you have to bring a dance partner with you-there's always a new friend yet to be met on the dancefloor.
45 CARD DRIVE
A 45 Card drive resumed on Tuesday 11th January at 8.45pm in Moneystown Community Centre.
There was no jackpot winner in last weeks lotto draw, the numbers drawn were 1, 11, 18 & 19. There were two match three winners, Joe Turner & Rowena Brady. Next weeks jackpot will be €5,600.
