Round­wood Va­ri­ety Group are putting pro­duc­tion “Magic of the Mu­si­cals” this week­end from Thurs­day 3rd March to Satur­day 5th March, nightly at 8pm with a mati­nee on Satur­day at 3pm in The Brock­agh Re­source Cen­tre, Laragh. This prom­ises to be a great nights en­ter­tain­ment with great big num­bers from Mamma Mia, Les Mis­er­ables, Ok­la­homa, My Fair Lady with the chil­dren do­ing some great songs from An­nie & Bugsy Malone to name just a few. Tick­ets for all shows are only €12 and are now on sale & can be booked by ring­ing 086 2451829.

The next dance in Round­wood Parish Hall/Cen­tre will be on the 25th March mu­sic will be by Tony Davitt. On the 15th April mu­sic will be by Golden Dream and on the 20th May mu­sic by Gerry Galvin and the Wick­low man will play on the 17th June and Rio on the 15th July. Dancing is from 9.30pm - 12 mid­night with tea and a raf­fle. There will be a tea dance on Sun­day 13th March 2011 from 3pm - 6pm with mu­sic by Wil­liam Belton and we will also have a tea dance on 5th June from 3pm - 6pm with mu­sic by Wil­liam also.


A pil­grim­age S.M.A to Knock will take place on the Sun­day 28th May, 2011 leav­ing Laragh at 7a.m. via Round­wood at 7.30a.m. Bus €25 per per­son. Names to Su­san at 0404 45276.


The Unity Gospel Choir will hold a con­cert in Round­wood Parish Hall on Fri­day 1st April from 8pm - 10.30pm. Ad­mis­sion €10 with all money raised go­ing to The Wick­low Moun­tain Res­cue. Tick­ets are in Justines shop or can be bought on the door on the night.


The cruise planned for June has been can­celled. It will take place next year in­stead.


Cir­cuit train­ing and body con­di­tion­ing start­ing Tues­day 22nd march from 7 - 8pm at the parish hall, Round­wood, €7.50 per class or sign up for 8 classes for €55, please bring a mat/wa­ter and plenty of en­ergy


The re­sults of the whist in aid of the Se­nior Cit­i­zens is as fol­lows:-Top Score: Biddy O'Con­nor; Top Lady: Kitty Kennedy; Sec­ond Lady: Mary Jo O'Mal­ley; Top Gent: Richie Cullen; Sec­ond Gent: Tiney Shortt; First Half: Molly Byrne; Sec­ond Half: Mau­reen Gaffney; Long­est Sitting: May Kenna & Low­est Score: Ann Gaffney. Raf­fle prizes were won by Ann Wolo­han, Mau­reen Gaffney, Mary Pierce & Lucy Mol­loy. The next whist will be on Wed­nes­day 9th March.


Due to the can­cel­la­tion of the An­nual Sale of Work in De­cem­ber, A Spring Fair is to take place on Sun­day 17th of April. It is planned to have all the usual at­trac­tions with a Spring & Easter Theme. The Com­mit­tee would wel­come any new idea's to help make this event an en­joy­able day.

A big thank you to all the chil­dren who have cre­ated lovely pic­tures for our art competition. The good news is we are hold­ing an Art Ex­hi­bi­tion on Sun­day the 6th March af­ter 11.30 Mass in Round­wood Parish Cen­tre. The pic­tures are be­ing judged by Claire Tim­mons (Art teacher in Job­stown Com­mu­nity Col­lege). 1st and 2nd placed paint­ings in all age-groups will go for­ward to repe­sent our area in the County fi­nals The ex­hi­bi­tion will close at 2pm. All chil­dren par­ents and guardians are wel­come.

Anne Sex­ton Pi­lates Stu­dio is in the Parish Cen­tre, Round­wood -You must ring Anne (087 2698375) or see the no­tice in Parish Cen­tre for next ex­cit­ing time-ta­ble - As well as the usual Mat and Sta­bil­ity ball classes for ev­ery­one there are ex­tra classes for Men, the Over 50's and Back Care, Cir­cuit Train­ing and Ket­tle Bells.


Now that the New Year is with us and we've al­ready broke all our res­o­lu­tions, why not make a new one to try some­thing dif­fer­ent and join us in Ka­vanagh's Lounge on Thurs­day nights for a fun night of set Dancing with live mu­sic sup­plied by O'Kanes. The session starts at 9.30pm til 11.30pm and we hold lessons with Sheila from 8.30pm so there is no ex­cuse not to give it a go!Cost of the evening is €5 (to in­clude the les­son). Any­one who has tried this will tell you that it is a great fun night, good work out and costs an aw­ful lot less than a gym. Don't feel you have to bring a dance part­ner with you-there's al­ways a new friend yet to be met on the dance­floor.


A 45 Card drive re­sumed on Tues­day 11th Jan­uary at 8.45pm in Moneystown Com­mu­nity Cen­tre.


There was no jack­pot win­ner in last weeks lotto draw, the num­bers drawn were 1, 11, 18 & 19. There were two match three win­ners, Joe Turner & Rowena Brady. Next weeks jack­pot will be €5,600.
