Round­wood Va­ri­ety Group are very busy re­hears­ing for their forth­com­ing pro­duc­tion “Magic of the Mu­si­cals” which will take place from Thurs­day 3rd March to Satur­day 5th March, nightly at 8 p.m. with a mati­nee on Satur­day at 3pm in the Brock­agh Re­source Cen­tre, Laragh. This prom­ises to be a great nights en­ter­tain­ment with great big num­bers from Mamma Mia, Les Mis­er­ables, Ok­la­homa, My Fair Lady, An­nie & Bugsy Malone to name just a few. Tick­ets for all shows are a mere €12 and can be booked by ring­ing 086 2451829.


The next Car Boot Sale at the Brock­agh Cen­tre will take place on Sun­day 6th March from 11 am un­til 4 pm. Vans must be booked in. Car Boot Sales will take on the 1st Sun­day of the month. Con­tact the Brock­agh Cen­tre on 0404-45600.


World Day of Prayer Ser­vice takes place in St. John's Church Laragh at 8 p.m. on Fri­day 4th March. This is an in­ter­na­tional move­ment of prayer pre­pared this year by women of Chile. Women and men are wel­come. For fur­ther in­for­ma­tion from Ruth McCul­lagh at (0404) 43814.


Laragh/Glen­dalough are hold­ing a Tidy Towns meet­ing in the Brock­agh Cen­tre Laragh on Tues­day 8th March. We were re­cently pre­sented with 300 euro by Wick­low County Coun­cil for our ef­forts in 2010. We would ap­pre­ci­ate some new vol­un­teers.


Get Vo­cal is a cho­ral pro­gramme for older per­sons liv­ing in County Wick­low. We are look­ing for par­tic­i­pants for our 2011 Spring Pro­gramme. No au­di­tions.

There are five re­gional sec­tions which will have pro­fes­sional cho­ral con­duc­tors and all five sec­tions will come to­gether as one county choir to per­form a con­cert in Wick­low on Sun­day 29th May. This pro­ject is led by Wick­low County Arts Of­fice in part­ner­ship with County Wick­low Net­work for Older Peo­ple, County Wick­low VEC Com­mu­nity Ed­u­ca­tion Fa­cil­i­ta­tor and Court­house Arts Cen­tre, Ti­na­hely.


Adult art classes will recom­mence on Wed­nes­day morn­ing from this week at 11 a.m. Classes suit­able for com­plete be­gin­ners or im­provers. A new session of chil­dren's arts and craft classes takes place on Satur­day morn­ings from 10.30 a.m. un­til 12 noon. Open to ages of 4-8yrs. Book­ing Es­sen­tial for both classes. The next 'My Rhythms' Body Move­ment Dance ses­sions at the Brock­agh Cen­tre will take place on Satur­day 12th March from 8-10.30 pm. You will be sure to de­stress your tired body, have fun, en­er­gise your­self, meet new peo­ple and come away with your bat­ter­ies recharged. Cover charge only €10. First half hour is for stretch­ing and warm up. Tell all your friends. Loose cloth­ing ad­vis­able - bring your own re­fresh­ments but no al­co­hol. The next Coun­try & Craft Mar­ket at the Brock­agh Cen­tre will take place on Sun­day 13 March from 11 am un­til 4 pm. Con­tact Co­lette on 0404-45600.


On Mon­day 14th March there will be a very spe­cial event or­gan­ised by the Brock­agh Cen­tre. The Phillips Academy Cham­ber Orches­tra and Choir from Mas­sachusetts, USA will be vis­it­ing Glen­dalough and will hold a spe­cial lunchtime per­for­mance from 12.30pm in St. Kevin's Church, Glen­dalough.

There is no cover charge but do­na­tions will be grate­fully re­ceived for St Kevin's Church Fund. The Phillips Academy, es­tab­lished in 1778, is a cel­e­brated res­i­den­tial sec­ondary school with a rep­u­ta­tion for aca­demic ex­cel­lence and a strong arts tra­di­tion.

For all stu­dents at Phillips Academy, mu­sic is a part of their stud­ies and the Mu­sic Depart­ment di­rects sev­eral vo­cal, or­ches­tral, cham­ber and wind en­sem­bles. A se­lec­tion of these en­sem­bles will come to­gether for this spe­cial per­for­mance. We are de­lighted to wel­come the group and hope that those in the lo­cal­ity who are avail­able will come along to show their sup­port.
