The Newtown Drama Group will present its annucal production in the Parkview Hotel, Newtownmountkennedy on Thursday 3rd, Friday 4th and Saturday 5th March at 8pm. This year audiences will be treated to a production of Bernard Far- rell's hilarious comedy “Say Cheese”. Come along and meet 'Ireland's Happiest Couple' as they celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary, in a calamity of error's comedy, where whatever can go wrong certainly does.

NEWTOWN TIDY TOWNS
The AGM was a great success with lots of ideas for the coming year. We hope to have the 1798 site fully completed ready for St Patrick’s day weather permiting. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the fas workers for all there hard work with the tidy towns. 12th March Saturaday 10.00 till 14.00 the first clean up day of the year getting our village ready for St. Patrick’s day parade. Meeting at St Joseph’s church, Main St. Please bring glove. Pickers will be supplied on the day. New and old members all welcome. Children’s poster clean up competiton. The mixed doubles held on Saturday last in Wicklow were very well contested and finally came down to an exciting final over 15 ends between Wicklow and Newtown, and congratulations goes to Wicklow for a closely fought game where they emerged the victors by 1 point which is an indication of the standard of bowling on the day, Well done. The Millenium Cup will take place next Saturday the 5th of March in Newtown Bowling Club and sign in time is 1.30pm, Start time 2pm, looking forward to seeing a large turnout and some great bowlng. NEWTOWN JUVENILE GAA
The Annual Juvenile presentation was held recently in the Community Centre. A Great day was had by all who attended, young and old. Wicklow’s dynamic duo of Leighton Glynn and Dean Odlum were on hand to present the Under 8’s and 10’s with their go-games medals, also getting medals were the 12’s who were runners up in their Championship and the 14’s collected medals for winning the “B” Championship.
Before anybody received a medal of any sort the boys and girls present tucked into some fine food and drink, non-alcoholic of course, courtesy of Marios and Centra.
The most dedicated and the player of the year winners were U-12 most dedicated -Sean Gregory. U-12 player of the year Sean Carthy. U-14 most dedicated Kenneth Turner: U-14 player of the year Keith Dalton. U-16 most dedicated Ian Farrell. U-16 player of the year Stephen Davis. Minor most dedicated Stephen Taite Minor player of the year Christy Power. Aisling Mc Donald was presented with an award as a momento of her time playing with the club. She will be sorely missed by her team mates. Thanks Ais and Good Luck for the future.
Marty Heffernan pickup the Juvenile Clubman of the year and was presented with the award by our new chairman Papa Davis. If ever any man deserved an award it is Marty. Congratulations to Marty and all the other winners. Thanks to Dean and Leighton and all who helped during the year and on the day.
