AC­TION IN the Hoof­prints in­ter­school chal­lenge con­tin­ued at Boswell Eques­trian last Satur­day with home teams dom­i­nat­ing pro­ceed­ings in both the team and in­di­vid­ual events.

The sun was shin­ing for the 21 teams that trav­elled from all over the coun­try to rep­re­sent their schools in this highly com­pet­i­tive league.

How­ever, Wick­low seemed to have the ad­van­tage as they took con­trol of the team event from the start.

In the end, vic­tory in the team chal­lenge went to the home side as St. Ger­ard's School Bray team of Oisín Boyd, Thomas Fo­ley, Sarah O'Lough­lin and Dara Cal­lan left their ri­vals in their wake to record the win­ning score.

Chas­ing the home team across the line was New­bridge Col­lege, while Scoil Mhuire Trim ac­counted for third place.

Wick­low found them­selves back in the rib­bons as the Co­laiste Bhride Carnew team con­sist­ing of Maria Breen, Laura Kin­sealla, Leah Holt and Ali­son MacDer­mott slot­ted into fourth place.

In the open in­di­vid­ual class, vic­tory went north to Kate Mad­den with her mount Bawn De­light when she clocked the win­ning time of 32.94. How­ever rep­re­sent­ing the home side, Amy Sut­ton and Coloured Rose put in a solid per­for­mance to take sixth place.
