Bray People - - SPORT -

THIS THURSDAY the Loreto Bray girls senior soccer team play in their first ever Leinster Schools Senior Cup Final when they face Ulrika Kells from Meath in Leixlip.

The team are coached by Newtown United's Hughie Nolan and have beaten some top schools on route to the final. In the first round, they beat Castleknock 3-2 before seeing off Dominican Convent Wicklow by a goal to nil in the second round.

St. Finian’s Mullingar provided the opposition for the girls in the last eight but another 1-0 win saw them sail through to the semi-finals where St. Peter's of Dunboyne were waiting for them. But they turned on the style with a 5-0 win to advance to tomorrow's final.

Most of this team is made up of girls who played in the Wicklow Schoolboy/Girls league for various clubs up to the eligible age of U-13's and they include Celina O'Toole (St. Anthony's), Katie Walsh, Emma O'Brien and Deirdre Mulligan (Glencormac United) and many girls from Wicklow who now play in Dublin Leagues. Best of luck girls.
