Guides learn to fight fire

Bray People - - NEWS -

MORE THAN 20 girl guides got the chance to have a tour of Bray's fire station at the weekend, spending around an hour carrying out a full inspection of the station facilities.

Dad Malcolm Pert, who organised the trip, said that they were treated to a tour of the museum and the station before looking at an engine and the equipment, including lights and sirens and a go at the fire hose.

The firemen on site opened the floor up to questions, of which there were many, from the girls aged eight to 14 years old.

‘We had a wonderful time,' said Malcolm. ‘ The hour went by in the blink of an eye.'

The guides meet in St Kilian's Sports Hall every Tuesday evening at 7.30 p.m. Anyone is welcome to pop in and see what it's all about. However, to expand the numbers, more leaders would be required to participate.
