Redmond to play at carers’ concert
GUITARIST Redmond O'Toole is to perform at a special fundraising concert in Bray this month.
The Carers Association is hosting an ‘Evening of Music and Song' in Christ Church, Bray, on Monday, March 14, from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. to raise vital funds for family carers.
The classical event will see performances by The Phillips Academy Chamber Orchestra and Choir from the USA and the Bray Gospel Choir performing with a special guest, internationally renowned classical guitarist Redmond O'Toole, who will be playing music by JS Bach and Issac Albeniz.
Usually found performing across Europe, Redmond is taking some time in Bray where he has a home, following the birth of his daughter.
‘We've been extremely fortunate to get Redmond on board as he normally performs in Europe. All three acts are giving their time free of charge to raise funds for Family Carers in the Dublin and Wicklow area and we are extremely grateful for their support,' said Annette McCaul, fundraising manager for The Carers Association.
The ‘ Evening of Music and Song' is being held to raise vital funds for The Carers Association, the national voluntary body that represents Ireland's over 270,000 family carers. Family carers often provide round-the-clock care for loved ones in the home, including older people, those seriously ill and children and adults with disabilities or special needs.
Tickets for the event are €10 and can be bought in the Fabric Gallery, Main Street, Bray, on 01 2860979 or from the Carers Association on 01 2761760.
