Red­mond to play at car­ers’ con­cert

GUI­TARIST Red­mond O'Toole is to per­form at a spe­cial fundrais­ing con­cert in Bray this month.

The Car­ers As­so­ci­a­tion is host­ing an ‘Evening of Mu­sic and Song' in Christ Church, Bray, on Mon­day, March 14, from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. to raise vi­tal funds for fam­ily car­ers.

The clas­si­cal event will see per­for­mances by The Phillips Academy Cham­ber Orches­tra and Choir from the USA and the Bray Gospel Choir per­form­ing with a spe­cial guest, in­ter­na­tion­ally renowned clas­si­cal gui­tarist Red­mond O'Toole, who will be play­ing mu­sic by JS Bach and Issac Al­b­eniz.

Usu­ally found per­form­ing across Europe, Red­mond is tak­ing some time in Bray where he has a home, fol­low­ing the birth of his daugh­ter.

‘We've been ex­tremely for­tu­nate to get Red­mond on board as he nor­mally per­forms in Europe. All three acts are giv­ing their time free of charge to raise funds for Fam­ily Car­ers in the Dublin and Wick­low area and we are ex­tremely grate­ful for their sup­port,' said An­nette McCaul, fundrais­ing man­ager for The Car­ers As­so­ci­a­tion.

The ‘ Evening of Mu­sic and Song' is be­ing held to raise vi­tal funds for The Car­ers As­so­ci­a­tion, the na­tional vol­un­tary body that rep­re­sents Ire­land's over 270,000 fam­ily car­ers. Fam­ily car­ers of­ten pro­vide round-the-clock care for loved ones in the home, in­clud­ing older peo­ple, those se­ri­ously ill and chil­dren and adults with dis­abil­i­ties or spe­cial needs.
