€1,100 raised for Stroke Club

VOL­UN­TEERS man­aged to raise an im­pres­sive €1,100 for the East Wick­low Stroke Club re­cently at a col­lec­tion in Tesco, Bray.

' We would like to thank ev­ery­one for their gen­er­ous sup­port,' said or­gan­iser Michael Whe­lan.

The stroke club meets ev­ery Mon­day from 10 a.m. to 12.15 p.m. in the Parish Cen­tre, Villa Pacis, Vevay Road, Bray.

The club is sup­ported by vol­un­teers and fundrais­ing, with ex­penses in­curred for such items as trans­port and out­ings.

Funds raised will be used to help the many peo­ple who have suf­fered the ef­fects of stroke and who at­tend weekly ses­sions at the Villa Pacis.

'Dur­ing these weekly ses­sions the mem­bers do ex­er­cises with a spe­cial­ist in­struc­tor and are en­cour­aged to do fur­ther ex­er­cise through­out the week to help to try to re­lieve some of the ef­fects of the stroke,' ex­plained Michael.
