€1,100 raised for Stroke Club
VOLUNTEERS managed to raise an impressive €1,100 for the East Wicklow Stroke Club recently at a collection in Tesco, Bray.
' We would like to thank everyone for their generous support,' said organiser Michael Whelan.
The stroke club meets every Monday from 10 a.m. to 12.15 p.m. in the Parish Centre, Villa Pacis, Vevay Road, Bray.
The club is supported by volunteers and fundraising, with expenses incurred for such items as transport and outings.
Funds raised will be used to help the many people who have suffered the effects of stroke and who attend weekly sessions at the Villa Pacis.
'During these weekly sessions the members do exercises with a specialist instructor and are encouraged to do further exercise throughout the week to help to try to relieve some of the effects of the stroke,' explained Michael.
