Brady pays tribute to those who helped him in election campaign

Bray People - - ELECTION 2011 -

PIPPED AT THE post candidate John Brady paid tribute to everyone who had helped him in his recent bid for Dail Eireann.

‘Friends, family, my colleagues in Sinn Fein, my election team and supporters all around the county have been incredible in their tireless efforts and enthusiasm not only during this campaign, but during my entire time as a councillor.

The volume of kind words and well wishes from people all across the political spectrum has been incredible.

‘I want to say to everybody who voted for me that each and every vote was appreciated. These votes have not been wasted.

‘They have shown that Sinn Fein in Wicklow has struck a chord with many thousands of people, and I will continue to serve the people of Wicklow in my capacity as a town and county councillor.

‘My congratulations go to the five successful candidates in Wicklow. It was a hard fought campaign and I know the work involved in such a campaign is not to be underestimated.

Disappointing as the result was we remain bowed but not broken. We will be back, stronger and bigger than ever.’

John Brady calls a halt to his recount request.
