Bray People - - SCHOOLSREPORT -

Last Friday after two weeks of hard work sitting mock Junior Cert. exams, the Third Year students celebrated with a trip to Armargh for the day. The aim was to visit the Planetarium and to attend the workshops there. The day began with one hundred and ten students and seven teachers meeting at school at 8.45.am. to begin their journey north by coach. A short break was made in Drogheda to visit the Cathedral and have some refreshment. Once in Armargh, tours around the Planetarium were followed by the workshops where the students set out to build their own space rockets and then launched them with great success.

The next activity also delighted the girls – shopping - which was deemed to be much cheaper up North than in the Republic. Armed with bags full of purchases the group finally made it back to the gates of Loreto, Bray by 6.45.pm. tired but extremely satisfied having had a ‘great fun day’.

Congratulations to Eireann O’Sullivan and Jenny Galligan, two Fifth Year students who did wonderfully well in the Loreto Mace Debates. They have reached the finals having overcome several other Loreto Schools on the way.

On Friday Transition Year students are making a collection in aid of oesophagal cancer.

On the third of March busloads of students embarked on the annual venture to a Leinster School Final. Decked out in war paint, ties on heads and chants at the ready, they were on their way. The Loreto Bray Football Team stormed their way through the league. As a result they secured a place in the Leinster Final for the third year in a row!

This final highlighted the overwhelming talent that the soccer playing students of our school possess. There is definite potential for this squad to win tons of trophies in years to come. Congratulations to all the girls who played.
